Kuşadası is also an important tourism city for Christians, and the settlement of the Virgin Mary and the apostle St. Jean in Ephesus in the early years of Christianity made the region an important center for Christians. The sovereignty of Turkey was established in 1086 in the 1st century. It starts with the conquest of the region by Süleyman Shah, the region, which joined the Seljuk State after the conquest, became the opening point of the caravans to the Aegean Region in this period, but the sovereignty of the Seljuk State 1. Güvercinada Castle, which is an important symbol of Kuşadası and is located in Hacıfeyzullah District today; It was built by Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha to protect the port.  The walls around the castle were built to prevent possible attacks that may occur during the Peloponnese Revolt. The walls were built in such a way that they completely envelop Güvercinada and their height is about 3 meters. Kuşadası was occupied by Italy between 1919 and 1921 during the War of Independence. The region, which was occupied by Greece with the withdrawal of the Italians from the region, was liberated from enemy occupation on September 7, 1922.
